Good morning!
There has been a lot going on—at work, in life—and I need to take some time today to thank the people who have helped me power through it all this past week.
Thank you to my sister, who watched my kids while I attended a bachelorette party last weekend, and to my dad: together they cleaned what had become a truly disastrous living room mess. Thank you to my husband’s best friend, who came over and mowed the lawn (and frankly treats my yard better than I do). Thank you to my mom, who came over for an election night visit and cleaned the kitchen once I sat down at my desk. And thank you to my mother-in-law, who put both kids to bed and made lunches while I was hunkered down at the computer on election night.
You can get by without a village. But it really is so nice to have one—especially when they show up to help when you least expect it.

The Agenda

Hot Springs Road between Harrison and Agassiz will see delays of up to 20 minutes in both directions during the summer. 📷 Google Streetview
Construction to create summer delays on road to Harrison
The only road to Harrison Hot Springs will be reduced to single-lane alternating traffic from Monday to Thursday this summer as construction crews resurface the highway.
Work on Hot Springs Road is set to begin in June and will take place during the day to comply with the village’s noise bylaws. While construction will stop on weekends and holidays in an effort to minimize the disruption on the busy route, weekday travellers are being warned to expect delays of up to 20 minutes in the construction zone.
After August, the work will run from Monday to Saturday until the project is completed, which is expected in November.
The project includes work to improve the drainage system on the highway to help keep the roads dry in the event of a flood. Asphalt resurfacing will also take place along Lillooet Avenue and Rockwell Drive from Highway 9 to the Rockwell Marina.
