Riding details
The Langley-Aldergrove riding (click for map) includes the Township of Langley and a western portion of rural Abbotsford. Before the 2015 election, it also included Langley City, which is now part of the Cloverdale-Langley City riding. The region has voted Conservative since the early 2000s, with Tako Van Popta earning 47% of the vote in 2019. There are approximately 96,000 people eligible to vote in the riding.

What to watch
The riding has a strong Conservative base. The Conservatives have held power in the region since the early 2000s—then-MP Randy White was also elected as part of the centre-right Reform Party of Canada and Canadian Alliance—and a switch seems unlikely. One-quarter of votes in 2019 were cast for the Liberals. But Kim Richter might have as good a shot as anyone to defeat the Conservatives, having served seven terms on Langley Township council. 338Canada prediction: CPC safe seat
