Langley City is bringing in outside eyes ahead of a period of major growth

With SkyTrain coming and the city continuing to grow, Langley City has hired consulting firm MNP LLP to take an independent look at how it operates.

The external effectiveness and efficiency review will examine city services, internal processes, and how resources are allocated, with the goal of identifying ways to reduce bottlenecks, improve service delivery, and make better use of technology. The final report is expected to go to council this fall.

"As Langley City grows and evolves, it is important that we continue looking for ways to strengthen how we serve our community," said CAO Francis Cheung. "This external review will provide an independent perspective on how we can improve processes, better support our employees, and continue delivering high quality services for the citizens of Langley City."

MNP has conducted similar reviews for other B.C. municipalities, the city noted.
