Abbotsford's mobile overdose prevention site is relocating to the grounds of Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre on April 22, moving from its current location on Riverside Road to a more central spot at 32900 Marshall Road.

The site, operated by Lookout Housing and Health Society on behalf of Fraser Health, provides a supervised space where people can consume substances with trained staff on hand to respond to overdoses and connect visitors with health and social supports. It will continue to operate seven days a week from noon to 6:30 p.m.

The move is intended to improve accessibility and bring the service closer to emergency care. Admitted hospital patients will also be able to access the site, in addition to community members.

"Access to overdose prevention services is vital for people who use substances," said Dr. Rahul Walia, medical health officer. "Moving the mobile unit to a more central location ensures we can provide this valuable service to those who need it most."

In 2025, the site recorded 3,422 visits, distributed 976 naloxone kits, and made 252 referrals to mental health, substance use, and other health services.
