NYE 2025: Nine ways to ring in the new year in the Fraser Valley

The year is ending. A new one is beginning. All we must do now is decide how we wish to transition between the two.
For anyone who is wanting to head out on the town, the Fraser Valley has a number of options for party-goers at a number of price points. From elegant masked balls to rocking cover bands, there are tons of different ways to ring in 2025.
BC Transit will be offering free transportation after 6pm on Dec. 31 in Abbotsford and Mission, with extended hours in the wee hours of 2025. The Fraser Valley Express will also be free after 6pm, although it won’t be running late. The full schedule is available online. The Westcoast Express will be operating on a weekday schedule, and the 5:30pm and 6:20pm trains leaving waterfront will be free. Transit in Langley will also be free from 5pm onwards, with some extended service.

A good time doesn’t have to involve spending a lot of money. There are several next-to-free events happening on New Year’s Eve in Chilliwack and Langley.
NYE at Sidekick
Chilliwack’s Sidekick Brewing is hosting its NYE party with two DJs to keep things spinning all night long. Juno-winning local artist Teen Daze and Landen Sperling will perform starting at 9pm.
Tickets at $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Details online.
Timeless NYE at Townhall
Langley’s Townhall Restaurant is celebrating NYE with complimentary party favours, confetti cannons, a midnight champagne toast, and a countdown to the new year. The night begins at 9:30pm and continues until 2am with music and drinks.
The event is free, but you need to make a reservation online.
Corky’s Irish Pub New Year’s Eve Party
In Chilliwack, Corky’s Irish Pub is set to celebrate the new year with live music. The evening will begin with a performance by local country artist James Stanway, and continue with dancing and tunes courtesy of the Stan Giles Band.

For anyone who wants to celebrate without burning a massive hole in their wallet, there are a number of mid-priced New Year’s Eve events happening across the Fraser Valley.
The F Tones New Year’s Eve Party
The Sasquatch Inn in Harrison Mills is hosting a night of live music to ring in 2025. The evening will include party favours, special cocktails, and covers of classic tunes by the Langley-based band The F Tones. Tickets also include a free glass of champagne at midnight.
Tickets start at $20. Details online.
Rock Step Swing Society’s New Year’s Eve Eve Swing Dance Party
If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the new year before it actually arrives, Langley’s Rock Step Swing Society is hosting a swing dance on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 7pm to 11pm. The night will begin with a free swing dance lesson so beginners have something to help them get in the groove. It continues with a live jazz band, dancing, and some special performances to kick the evening up a notch.
Early-bird tickets are on sale until Dec. 22 for $30. Regular admission is $35. Details online.
The Highwayman Pub’s New Year’s Eve Party
The Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford is hosting a New Year’s Eve party featuring White Rock blues band Jamie Dale and Friends. The event will feature live music from the high-energy band with lots of opportunities for dancing. Happy hour prices on some drinks will be in effect after 9pm, and there will be a late-night sampler platter that hungry guests can purchase.

If you’re willing to dole out the dough for an elaborate New Year’s Eve event, the Fraser Valley has a few options for you, from masked balls to Alice and Wonderland fetes.
Newlands Golf Course New Year’s Eve Gala
Newlands Golf Course in Langley usually holds an extravagant New Year’s Eve party, and this year is no exception. Starting at 6pm, attendees can head to the golf course to enjoy wine and spirits at any of the bars within the building. There will be a buffet in each of the five rooms at the golf course—all with the same menu—with dinner running between 6:30 and 8:30pm. After that, it’s a night of drinking, dancing, and celebration.
Each of the four main spaces at the golf course clubhouse will have a different theme. The main ballroom will have DJ entertainment for an upbeat dance party, while the patio restaurant will be more intimate and relaxed. Newland’s Bar and Grill will have a classic rock dance band, while the Fairmont ballroom will feature more bumping tunes.

Farm Country Brewing New Year’s Eve
Dress in your masked best for Farm Country Brewing’s New Year’s Eve event. The Langley brewery’s masquerade ball begins with live music, then transitions to a DJ’d night of dancing. Food is included in the ticket price. There will also be raffle prizes and a 50/50 draw supporting Langley firefighters.
The night begins at 7pm on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Early bird ticket prices start at $80. Details online.
Abbotsford’s Mad Hatter’s New Year’s Eve
Go down the rabbit hole on New Year’s Eve with an Alice in Wonderland-themed night at Abbotsford’s Clarion Hotel. The night will start with a complimentary welcome drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available) and continue with a buffet dinner. Afterwards, there will be a magic show by Kel Modern Magic and a night of DJ’d dancing.
The evening will also include a cash bar featuring Wonderland-themed drinks, a photo-booth, themed late night snacks and appetizers, and a champagne toast at midnight.
Alice in Wonderland-style attire is encouraged. Tickets start at $130. Details online.
