Good morning,
Reports of dead geese are climbing in the Fraser Valley, and people are understandably worried about avian flu. Elizabeth’s Wildlife Center in Abbotsford says it has been getting up to 60 calls a day about dead geese over the past two weeks. So far, there are no reports of the virus in the province’s domestic birds or poultry farms. If you come across a dead bird, keep pets away and report it, and the details on how are in the story below.
On a lighter note, there’s plenty to get out for this week. Mom’s the Word: Talkin’ Turkey brings the holiday comedy to Chilliwack on November 4, the Langley Weavers and Spinners Guild is holding its artisan sale on November 7 and 8, and a free art and community dialogue series starts in Boston Bar on November 5.
