The energy was high and the beer was flowing as brewers, beer lovers, and industry leaders gathered in New Westminster for the 2025 BC Beer Awards last Friday. Among the night’s biggest local winners was Mountainview Brewing Co. of Hope, which struck gold twice—earning first place for its Serpent’s Back Caribbean Stout and Barrel-Aged Serpent’s Back.
The wins add to an impressive track record for the brewery’s flagship stout, now a serial champion. “This now makes our Serpent’s Stout a three-time champion, and we couldn’t be more proud,” the team shared in a post celebrating the news.
The event recognized 61 breweries across 30 categories, with Langley’s Camp Beer Co. named Brewery of the Year and Smithers Brewing taking Best in Show for its Smithersbräu Festbier.
Founded by husband and wife duo Adam and Danielle Keil, Mountainview Brewing opened its doors in November 2020—making Hope part of BC’s thriving craft beer map for the first time. The brewery’s spacious tasting room and hearty menu have made it a favourite pit stop for travellers and locals alike.
The double gold follows another standout performance earlier this year, when Mountainview earned national recognition with a gold medal at the Canadian Brewing Awards for its Spruced Up gose.
The full winners list is on the BC Beer Awards website.
