Archway Community Services recognized seven local individuals and organizations earlier this month at its annual Community Builders’ Awards, held November 6 at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium.
The event highlighted long-time volunteers, emerging leaders, and organizations that support Archway programs or contribute to Abbotsford’s broader social infrastructure.
“Tonight, we are recognizing 16 amazing individuals and organizations who strengthen the fabric of our community,” said Rod Santiago, Archway’s chief executive officer, according to materials shared by Archway. “We know our community would not be the same without you.”
Mayor Ross Siemens noted Abbotsford’s ongoing tradition of volunteerism. “Whenever there are people in need in our community and farther afield, we can always count on Abbotsford to step up,” he said.
Archway board member Cecilia Mannella, who emceed the event, said she was encouraged by the range of nominees and the community spirit behind their work.
