Provincial ministers to provide flood response update from Abbotsford

The update is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 12.

Provincial and local officials will provide a public update on British Columbia’s flood response Friday morning, as the Fraser Valley remains under a state of emergency and communities continue to deal with widespread impacts.

The briefing will feature Kelly Greene, Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness; Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture and Food; Abbotsford Mayor Ross Siemens; and technical experts, including representatives from the River Forecast Centre.

The update is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 12, and will take place at the Emergency Operations Centre at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium in Abbotsford. The briefing will be livestreamed on YouTube, allowing residents across the province to tune in remotely.

Officials are expected to address the current flood situation, response efforts underway, and what residents and farmers in affected areas should expect in the coming days.
