Good morning,
We’re starting today with heavy news. Pte. Hayden Lykkemark of Langley, who served with the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, was one of four soldiers killed in a grass fire at CFB Wainwright in Alberta. Dozens more were injured, and the cause is still under investigation.
Premier David Eby paid tribute to Lykkemark and Pte. Aidan Goulding of North Vancouver in a social media post, urging British Columbians to “wrap our arms around their families” as they mourn. Our thoughts are with Lykkemark’s family, friends, and fellow soldiers.
