There are only two weeks left to enjoy one of Mission’s own homegrown breweries—HUBCo Brewing announced last week that it will be closing for good next month.

The brewery, which opened four years ago, is set to shutter on July 4.

“After four wild years of building, dreaming, hustling, adapting, and giving this everything we had, we’ve come to the heartbreaking realization that we can no longer sustain operations,” HUBCo’s operators shared in a social media post.

“This isn’t the ending we hoped for, and we’re still struggling to find the right words. But what remains is gratitude. So much gratitude.”

Owners Kylan St. Jean and wife, Jenna, opened HUBCo—short for Hands Up Brewing Company—in February 2022, taking over the downtown space on North Railway Avenue that once housed a karate dojo. Over the years, the brewery hosted multiple community events, including live music, karaoke, and crafting workshops—all while serving up a bevy of signature brews.

Its exit will leave Mission with just one other home brewery, Mission Springs Brewing Company.

HUBCo’s last events will be a FIFA Canada watch party and paint night on June 24, and a final karaoke night on July 3.

“We hope you’ll join us over these final weeks to share a drink, tell some stories, laugh a little, cry a little, and celebrate the community that made all of this possible. Thank you for giving us four unforgettable years.”
