Abbotsford is home to more than 1,200 farms and generates over $3.8 billion in annual agricultural activity — and on June 5, the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce is offering a rare chance to see some of it up close.
The Chamber's annual Agriculture Industry Tour is a fully guided bus tour visiting three local agri-businesses, including Bos Sod Farms — which supplied turf for the FIFA World Cup — and Nature's Pride, a premium animal health ingredient producer from Clearbrook Grain and Milling. There's also a mystery stop along the way.
The day wraps up with a networking lunch at Field House Brewing, where B.C. Agriculture Minister Lana Popham will address the group.
"Economic uncertainty has brought food security and agriculture to the forefront in Canada, and Abbotsford is uniquely positioned to be an agricultural superpower," said Alex Mitchell, CEO of the Abbotsford Chamber. "This tour puts the industry front and centre, giving people a direct line of sight into how our farms are shaping the future of agriculture."
The tour runs June 5 from 8:30 AM to 3 PM. Tickets are limited, with an option to attend the lunch portion only for those who can't make the full day.
