Summer isn't quite over, but Greendale Acres is already thinking ahead. The beloved Chilliwack farm opens its fall season on September 8, with a calendar of events running all the way through Halloween.
The classics are all back: the GOT CORN? Corn Maze, the U-Pick Pumpkin Patch, pumpkin spice coffees made with the farm's own hand-made creamer, and loaded baked potatoes served hot beside the fire. But the special events calendar gives families plenty of reasons to plan specific visits.
September
Fairytale and Superhero Day — September 19: Princess Belle meets families in the flower fields in the morning, with Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen joining the fun in the afternoon. Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favourite fairytale or superhero character.
First Responders Day — September 26: Fire trucks, police cruisers, ambulances, and search and rescue vehicles will be on site from 11 AM to 3 PM, with meet-and-greets with the first responders who operate them. First responders are admitted free.
Truth and Reconciliation Day — September 30: In acknowledgement of the farm's location on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Stó:lō people, Indigenous guests are admitted free for the day. The farm will also host a traditional Bannock Sale from 11 AM to 4 PM and welcome the Tzinquaw Dance Group to share culture from 3 to 4 PM. Partial proceeds go to the Memiyelhtel Indigenous Youth Mentorship Program in Chilliwack.
October
Pumpkin Patch Adventure, Princess & Heroes Edition — October 3: Cinderella visits the pumpkin patch in the morning, with Spider-Man swinging in for the afternoon. Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite princess or superhero.
Grandparents Days — October 9 and 23: Free admission for grandparents accompanied by a grandchild paying general admission or holding a membership.
Thanksgiving at the Farm — October 12–14: Three days of harvest-season activities, fires, and family-friendly fun over the long weekend. Group bookings available through the website.
Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off — October 17: Since April, Greendale Acres and community members have been carefully nurturing Giant Atlantic pumpkins. On October 17, they find out which one is the heaviest. Guests can guess the weight starting at 10 AM before the official weigh-off at 2 PM, with free hayrides also on offer.
Halloween Parade — October 31: A costume parade through the farm kicks off at 4 PM, followed by a Halloween-themed dance party with prizes for the most creative costumes and candy for all participants.
Regular fall hours begin September 8. Admission ranges from $17 to $25 depending on the day and whether you book online or at the door.
